The Country Mile Story

What began in a spare room during a very uncertain year grew into a seven-figure Australian clothing brand, built one collection, one customer and one very full packing bench at a time.

Our Story

Built in the country.
Backed by community.

Country Mile started in April 2020, at a time when everything felt uncertain. What began as a small idea quickly became something bigger, shaped by regional Australia, hard work, authenticity and a genuine love for the country.

From the spare room to our own warehouse, every chapter has been built around the people who wear Country Mile and the lifestyle that inspires it.

2020

Country Mile was born

After losing my earthmoving job during COVID, I started Country Mile from a spare room in April 2020. There was no huge team or perfect plan, just a love of country style and the belief that rural women deserved clothing that felt considered, flattering and made for real life.

Outgrowing the spare room

The orders kept coming, the boxes kept stacking up and the business quickly took over more than one room. Country Mile moved into its shed era and started becoming something much bigger than the little online store I had first imagined.

Finding our signature

This was the chapter where Country Mile really started to feel like Country Mile. Timeless colours, modern country cuts and pieces made to be worn on repeat became the foundation of every collection that followed.

Learning how to scale

More customers meant bigger collections, bigger deliveries and a whole new set of growing pains. We moved through our 3PL chapter, learned what worked, learned what didn’t and kept building the business without losing the personal feel behind it.

Meeting our community

Country Mile became more than an online brand. Events like the Deni Ute Muster brought the community together in real life and gave us the chance to meet the people who had been wearing, sharing and backing the brand from all over Australia.

A place of our own

We brought Country Mile home to its own warehouse in New Gisborne. Having our own space meant taking back control, building a team and creating a proper home for the brand after years of making every new space feel too small.

Still only the beginning

Six years on, Country Mile is a seven-figure Australian brand with a growing team, a loyal community and collections designed in regional Victoria. We’re growing carefully, staying cotton-first wherever we can and making pieces that still feel like us.
